Practical articles for men over 50

Straight answers about belly fat, strength and energy after 50. No hype, no crash diets, nothing you need a gym full of equipment to start.

This site is run by one person, not a company with a content team. My name is Alex Jordan. I am 64, I live in Northamptonshire, and everything here comes out of working out how to get back in shape at an age when most of the advice on offer stopped applying to me.

Why this exists

In my late fifties I had a health scare that made the situation impossible to ignore. I was heavier than I wanted to be, I got out of breath on stairs I used to take two at a time, and I had reached the point where I quietly avoided things rather than find out I could not do them.

So I did what most men do. I looked for a plan. What I found was written for people half my age: six sessions a week, heavy from day one, soreness treated as proof it was working. I could hold that for a fortnight. Then a knee would complain, or a bad night's sleep would land on a heavy day, and it would stop.

What finally worked was duller and far more repeatable. A plan I could keep going in an ordinary week, built around what I could do rather than what I weighed. I kept notes the whole way through, and those notes turned into what is on this site.

What I am not

I think you are owed this plainly, because plenty of sites your age group gets sold to are vague about it.

  • I am not a doctor. Nothing here is medical advice, and I will never tell you to change prescribed medication.
  • I am not a personal trainer or a nutritionist. I hold no fitness qualification.
  • I am not selling a transformation. There is no before-and-after photo on this site, no six-week miracle and no supplement.

What I have is the thing most of the qualified people do not: I have actually been a fifty-something man starting from a standstill, and I paid close attention to what made the difference and what was noise.

What you will find here

  • Articles answering the questions men over 50 actually ask, free and with nothing held back for the paid version.
  • A free report on why men over 50 keep starting over, with a seven-day starting point you can follow at home. Eleven pages, general information rather than a personal plan.
  • The 12-Week Comeback, the full programme, with a home track and a gym track.

How the site makes money, in one paragraph

The articles and the report are free. The programme is a one-off forty-nine pounds, which is where the income comes from. There is no subscription, no upsell after you buy, and no list rented out to anybody. It carries a sixty-day money-back guarantee, and I have honoured that without argument every time it has been asked for. If the programme is not right for you, the free material still stands on its own, and I would rather you used it than bought something you did not need.

One sensible caution. Everything here is general information, not medical advice. If you have a health condition, take medication, or have not exercised for a long time, speak to your GP before you start.

Getting hold of me. Questions, problems with an order, or you think something here is wrong: contact@over50andhealthy.xyz. It reaches me, not a helpdesk, and I answer within two working days.
